[DIY]: Thyme Oil

Have you read my post about Zam-Buk? When I was really curious for Zam-Buk ingredients, I read all the information and what captures my attention most is Thyme Oil.
I was like Thyme Oil? I didn't know it could works on the skin. So I was reading out to purchase but seems it's quite expensive and the amount is for 15ml. For sure I will need more than that. So I read online about DIY Thyme Oil.

Ingredients are very simple:
- Fresh Thymes
- Oils - any forms of oil that you would like to mix, for me as I could only find Olive Oil that's for makeup purpose (and not for cooking)
- Jar with lid

Steps:
1. Cut the thymes into smaller pieces, about 3-4 cm
2. Put the Thymes in the jar, fill about half the jar
3. Add the Olive Oil until it covers the Thyme, ensure it has to fully cover the Thyme
I'm using Ginvera Pure Olive Oil - purchased it in Watsons for $4
4. Keep in the cool and dark room
5. Leave it for at least 8 hours to let the Thyme soaked into the oil
6. You can apply it to the affected area

Thyme Oil
Thyme is a common herb and is generally used as a condiment or spice. Besides that, thyme is also used in herbal and domestic medicines. Thyme is botanically known as Thymus Vulgaris. The medicinal properties of thyme come mainly from its essential oils which are extracted through steam distillation of fresh flowers and leaves.
There are many different kinds of benefit from Thyme, but here's the most relevant one:
Skin product – Thyme oil can help tone aged skin and prevent acne outbreaks.
Home remedy – Thyme oil is used to relieve and treat problems like gout, arthritis, wounds, bites, and sores, water retention, menstrual and menopausal problems, nausea and fatigue, respiratory problems (like colds), skin conditions (oily skin and scars), athlete’s foot, hangovers, and even depression.

Since I was using this, actually I could really see how my skin has improved, it's not dry anymore, all wounds are quite fast healed and the marks left quite fast. Usually it will take a while..
And besides that, for old marks - not pigmented for years, it slowly brightens up the marks. Best part, it kills all itchiness and rashes that I always get after shower.

DIY Thyme Oil

For me personally, after shower in morning and night I applied the oil the whole legs and arms followed by zam-buk. Especially if I have rashes after shower an some itchiness, I would quickly apply those 2 things. It really works, kills all the itchiness so I won't scratch myself and it makes my skin looks and feel smooth and softer :)

Didn't know Zam-Buk could help so much :)

Here's how Thyme Oil and Zam-Buk has helped me:
- Soften my skin
- Lighten up the scar / marks
- Brighten my underarms area
- Kills all itchiness and rashes

If you have same skin problem like me, give it a try for this method! Beside these, of course you have to control your diet, research more on what food that your skin love!

XOXO
