Friday Night Dinner at Swee Choon Tim Sum

After been urging for DimSum, finally I and my friends (whom are living in the same neighbourhood) decided to have this Swee Choon Tim Sum. Remember on my previous post, we jogged in the morning for DimSum and end up the place only open at night? So here it is the place. I didn't take much picture from outside as I was too hungry!!

Swee Choon Tim Sum
Address: 191 Jalan Besar  Singapore 208882
Phone: 6294 5292
Operating Hours: 6PM - 4AM
How to get there: Cab, Bus 130, 139

I'm a huge fan of DimSum since I was a child. I couldn't eat a lot of it, but I really like the taste! Finally, I got a chance to try DimSum in Singapore and apparently I heard there are 2 good dimsum restaurant.
The other one is at 126 Geylang. My friends had tried it, they said it's cheaper compare with Swee Choon, some food is nicer (well, that's normal where every restaurant have their own specialities), long queue (result of famous restaurant), took quite some time for the food to appear on the table.

So after hinting it to my friends, we all agree to have DimSum dinner on Friday night after work! I didn't manage to come on time as you know, my working place is so far! So basically my friends ordered the food. They ordered 50 items for 5 pax. Unbelievable. It's not all small portion but there were some big portion too.

Basically here's some of the food that I like in Swee Choon:
- Siew Mai (it's damn delicious!)
- Har Gao (the prawn is awesome)
- Drunken Chicken? - not sure right name or not
- Fried HarGao (the prawn is damn freaking awesome)
- Xiao Long Bao
- Salted Egg Custard Bao!! (Favorite!!)

Bunch of foodsssss!!!

Passing the foods around

William too excited with the food

Here's the result from Wenda's cam :)

Favorite Bao ever!!! Salted Egg Custard Bao!!!

I was so excited when I know they sold the Salted Egg Custard Bao!! Seriously this is my favorite bao ever!!!! I really like the flavor, the size of the bao, it's just soooo delicious!!!! :)

Happy Jonal with the food!!

Me again :)

End up, after the dinner, the total bill was up to SGD 150!!!! Superb. It costs around SGD 30 per pax. My friend said it's more expensive compare with 126 Geylang. I haven't tried over there, so I couldn't say much about this. But I want to get a chance to try the 126. :)

And after the dinner, all the girls took pics.

And after that, while we were figuring out how to go home. We just walk around the area and we found out that actually it's nearby Mustafa!! Since the night was still young, we went to Mustafa for sightseeing on the cheap items. Then we all were quite shock with all the prices of perfumes in Mustafa! It's unbelievably cheap!!!!!!! Like super damn freaking cheap! Even cheaper than airport!!!
But the originality?  I'm not that sure.. Hahahaha!!

Treasure!!

Treasure is always mean something that's valuable for us. Super valuable that will cause you heart attack once you lost it.

Recently I heard this song in radio, but I never know that the singer is Bruno Mars! Until last Saturday I went to my friend's house and we were playing this song. It's kinda cool. I like the beat and the video clip is also like the retro vintage.

Check the clip here!

Bruno Mars - Treasure

And oh, if you want to check out his details. I get his details from wikipedia, hopefully it's accurate ;)

Birth Name: Peter Gene Hernandez
Stage Name: Bruno Mars
DOB: 8th October 1985
Raised in Honolulu, Hawaii

Discography:

I think all the songs that I like from him are quite mainstream. Ok. So here's my favorite one:
- Just the way you are (which somehow reminds me abit of my ex)
- Grenade
- Treasure
- When I was your man
- Locked out of heaven

Enjoy his pictures!!

Life in Singapore

As I'm counting, next month will be the mark that I have been staying in Singapore for a year! So many people asking me these questions:
- Isn't it getting harder to get job in Singapore?
- I heard the working visa is not easy to get
- How's the work pressure over there?
- Does your boss treat you good?
- What are doing in your company?
- They pay you good?
- Why did you choose Singapore? Why not Indonesia?
and so many more questions..

And what I could say is. Everything is possible with Him. Since I made the decision, it wasn't easy for me but I told God that I want to work in Singapore. I pray to God and told Him boldly that I want to work in Singapore, I want to have a fun work and I will be able to travel, have a good boss, good environment, everything!

So the story line was:
Beginning of 2nd week of July: I moved to SG once I get a place to stay
The next 10 days after I moved: I received the very first phone call for interview
The next day: I went for interview
The interview day on evening: The boss called me and I'm accepted
*Screaming*

However the pass wasn't easy to get. It took about 2 months+ to get my visa approved. Unbelievable. So at that time I travel in and out Singapore, waiting for my visa. And first, it never came to my mind that I still have an upcoming holiday with my friends to Phuket. It really never pass thru my mind. At all!!!

Until the date is nearer, I just realized and I asked my boss that I need to get out from Singapore but this time will cause me about 1 week as I have a holiday with friends at Phuket. He easily approved my request and apparently during my stay in Phuket. He sms-ed me saying that my passed has been approved! I scream!!!! I was so happy.

At that time, I rewinded all the memories. God plans was really awesome! God asked me to wait until the right time, yet I still able to travel here and there, visit my friends and apparently the pass was approved when I was on holiday! I'm so happy! Because I still have time to spent with friends. :)

Today, I never regret the decision that I made as I am walking with God. I asked and pray hard for everything. Indeed nothing is impossible when you are walking with God. Because He has greater plan and also His plan is above our plans. That we never ever though about it. :)

Update:
Sometimes I feel that live in Singapore, the phase is too fast. Way too fast. It's been a year since I'm here and I really didn't realize it. I enjoyed it but because this fast phase, I need to get holiday every 2 months to ease all the stress. I'm not saying that living in this country is bad and very stressful, but it's a good place for your own personal growth, maturity, etc yet you still need to balance it with some refreshing time.

It's A Beautiful Day!

It's A Beautiful Day by Michael Bublé is the latest song of his. The tune is very catchy and if you listen carefully to the lyrics, it's even funnier!

Ok. Usually how I enjoy song is depend on the music. If my ears love it, I will listen to it. If my ears don't love it, then no. Even though the lyrics is nice, but still it's a no. I believe music is meant to be for your ears to enjoy, not the brain. Even though the song writer and composer might use their brain =p I'm sorry.

:)

For some of you who doesn't know who Michael Bublé is, you can check his profile here. Michael Bublé (re: boo-blay) is a Canadian vocalist, actor and songwriter. He was born in 9 September 1975 and he's married.

Him and his wife
I heard the wife is preggie now :D

I like his deep-sexy voice, it's calming. Most of the genre that he sang is Jazz. He really has the jazzy voice and it's just so him and so sexy! So far, this album is my favorite. The songs are just so alive, fun, romantic, everything!! :)

His latest album - To Be Loved

Enjoy this clip!

Weekend Getaway: Jakarta

Finally, I have the urge to update the blog again!! Especially on this post! I'm excited to share this with you guys!

Early of this month, June, I went back to my beloved country, Indonesia. To be exact, I landed in the city with the horrible jam ever. Jakarta.

I have a habit to travel like every 2 months. Either I did it purposely (for my own purpose; to attend friends' weddings, family matters, holiday back to hometown, anything!) or unpurposely which is for business. I sounds like a business woman! LOL. But, usually I will travel with bosses and members and it will happen in the next month! Hopefully they won't change their mind and cancel the event :(

So this time round, I went back to Jakarta to have some refreshing. I mean sometimes it's quite bored in Singapore. Not to say bad things about it, but I just need some refreshing. :) At first it was quite hard for me to decide when as I can't go anywhere especially when the event day is near. Until I read a tweet from Lex (he's the Hitman System co-founder and one of the coach too) that they were opening a Loveable Lady class. So that's how I decided on the timing to go back. :)

I took Friday evening flight which were delayed by 1 hour and in result of course I reached Jakarta late as well and I was welcomed by the hazy weather and long queue for CIQ. I was so tired that, super tired like crazy until I wasn't excited enough to prepare for tomorrow's class.

So basically the class was held at Palem Cafe, Sogo Dept Store, Central Park from 1000 - 1500. I and my friend; Remita reached late and actually the class haven't started yet. I wasn't aware of Lex's tweet that the class would start late. So yeah, lucky me :)

The class started when it's about to 1130 (I guess) until about 1700. Quite long session but it's fruitful. As I have read their tweets, blogs, etc, it really turn the way I think 180 degree and during this session, I  learnt a lot, especially on how the men brain works. 1 sentence that always been a reminder for me, "Cowok itu dangkal!!". Men are shallow (direct translation). :) :)

I also learnt that before love other people, I need to love and care for myself too. If I'm not happy, how am I going to make other people happy. Relationship is meant to be for 2 people that is already happy so they got double happiness. Not only that, they also taught us on the sense of the beauty. Ladies, we are beautiful and we are meant to show our beauty. Don't hide it! Including your boobs ;)

Ladies, what I can tell you is, paying IDR 300000 is really nothing for all the information that you gained. It's a worthwhile investment that not only for your romance, but also for you yourself, people around you too. Check their website now at loveablelady.com for the class schedule.

Lifetime lesson, yes! :) And I'm going to put all the theories into practical. Theories means nothing if I never do anything about it. So let's see within this 2 months! Yippie. Unbelievable when all the gents were the one who taught the ladies how to become a loveable lady. :)

Here's the pics..

Me after the tiring day

Ok. So after that tiring day, on Sunday I went to church with Remita and her family. I took my flight back to SG in the evening, about 6pm flight. And I reach SG about 9pm++, super damn tired and I was working on the next day! :(

Before depart from CGK :)

When about to approach the SIN

Selfie with my BFF, Remita <3

So, yeah I did some practical to all the things that have been taught. One of it, I took courage to try to dye-ed my hair. After 22 years for having black color hair, now my hair color is brown.. Which is, not all brown.. I guess I'm too newbie with this stuffs, so basically I still bunch of black color hair :(

Next one, I'm planning to dye it again in the next 3 months! Haven't decided on the model and color, but I plan to go to saloon to do it. Any recommendation in SG?
Newbie with this thing..
I chose Chesnut Brown

Here's the result and only brown color popped up on the outer layer :(

Complete Brush Kit - Bubbi Brushes

For some make-up lovers, you might know bubzbeauty. I still remember how I started watch her video. It was from my good friend, he recommended me to watch the make up tutorial on youtube. He gave me her link, since then on I've been a good follower of her. Not stalker. But I always check on her updates, on blog, videos, vlog, everything. Check her website www.bubzbeauty.com.

I like her video because mostly the make up tutorial she gave is really could be used when you want to have simple hang out with friends. And not only that, usually she will have few product review, it's been very helpful for me. She knows what the girls out there looking for. I really appreciate it. :)

Her summer make up tutorial

Recently, she just launched the new range of bubbi brushes. This is the second launch of her brushes. During the first time, I wasn't dare enough to purchase as I was only a student, no income, quite scary to spend in quite huge amount. Hahahaha. How stingy I was back then. So this time round I decided to purchase the complete set. Click here for the Complete Brush Kit.

Since the night that she launched, trust me. The shopbubbi.com website was running super slow. Slow like crazy. As I have told myself that if I could go through the payment then I'll purchase it, if not then forget it. When your excitement are high, you started to feel anxious, nervous and patient level become super low. Well, I do excited for the new brushes, but not that excited super high to purchase it. The feeling that "I must buy it!!!!!!!!!!!". There wasn't any feeling of that.

There wasn't this feeling =p

So my patient is with me, I waited for the website to load, refresh, load, refresh, load refresh. Just to do a purchase, I waited for almost 1 hour while watching movie. Hahahahhaha. :)

I paid on the 21st May and I chose the normal registered mail, I received the email notification that the item had been processed on 23rd May and posted out on 24th May. I received the item on 4th June. Not that long, huh. Thanks to this country, super efficient. :)

Received the processed email on 23rd May

Received the shipped email on 24th May

So here's the snap of the brushes!!! I loveeeee theseeeee... it's so smoothh.. like super smooth. I tried the powder brush for my foundation compact powder, it blends well, and I could say that I only spend 10 seconds to cover my whole face with that brush!!! *Super Love*

Complete Brush Kit + Thank you card (Thanks Bubz!)

I used the Dome Brush for blusher, and it works perfectly well. I can feel the softness of the brush. A-ma-zing. I haven't got time to used all the brushes, but I believe it's going to be great.

What I like about the products are:
- The brushes are unique, like you can't find that shape out there
- I can feel that the brushes are made super detail and even the pouch too
- It's so soft and you will really fall in love once the brush has touched your face
- If you compare these brushes with the market, actually it's still affordable yet it has great quality

Update:
- I think it's a worthwhile investment if you are a make up enthusiast like me, up until now, I don't have any urge to buy any brushes. *you know girls itchy hands always want to buy things*

Here's the snap of the item:

Weekend Activity

So, last weekend, I and my housemate we had a healthy lifestyle. Yeah. "Healthy". :) Since me and my friends (about 5 of us) living in the same neighborhood, Boon Keng. We decided to have some exercise together!

Decided on Saturday we went for Jogging, short jog to an eating place. Now you know how healthy we are! Hahahaha. We jogged from Serangoon Rd all the way to Jalan Besar. I'm not a good runner, so I was the slowest one and I'm not that fit. :(

In the morning, we were hinting for DimSum at Jalan Besar, they said it's famous and delicious. But when we reached, actually it's closed!! And only open at night. Unbelievable. Then one of my friend said there's a delicious Bak Chor Mian nearby so we had our breakkie over there!

And after breakkie, we decided to go to Bugis. We walked, no run.

While walking to Bugis..

Ran 1.92 km.. Feel proud.. Somehow.

Bak Chor Mian & Honey Lime Jelly Drink
FYI, we all ordered the food in mandarin. The super basic and a little bit retarded.

After long walk and run, of course we took bus

W43 Girls :)                                                      Me in the bus

That's my Saturday. On Sunday, only I and my housemate, Juju went to ECP for cycling. Ok. I could only do super less exercise, only swimming and cycling. Not a huge fan of running. We went to ECP by cab, then we rented the bike at Big Splash 2, per hour was for SGD 6 and subsequent hour SGD 4. The most ridiculous things ever, we were short of cash!!! I brought SGD 40 ONLY!! 10 was used earlier for cab. And when I was about to pay for the bike, the cashier asked me for ID, I was like.. I only brought cash, phone and earphone. That's all. No ID, nothing. Same goes for Juju, she's even worst, only brought her phone, earphone and atm card! Hhahahahahhaa.

Beside ID, they asked us to put deposit for SGD 50. Me and Juju were looking at each other then we told the auntie we didn't have that amount. We only had 30 dollars! Thank God the auntie was kind enough to let us rent the bike without deposit and we just surrender 30 dollars to her. :D

After cycling effect, my leg was like jelly. I couldn't walk straight. So I decided to sit down and enjoy the beach yet Juju, she ran for 3km. For goodness sake, I have no idea how she did that. :|

As usual, in the morning when you didn't take any breakfast and you had some exercise, your stomach would complain! So after ECP, we went to Old Airport Road Food Center. Before that, both of us was quite "gan cheong" that we would be short of cash, just eat the cheap food. But actually we found ATM machine! It's like the life safer. Epic.

I grab the famous "Char Kuey Teow" which taste so-so for me. Sorry for the huge fan of the Char Kuey Teow in Old Airport Road Food Center. Blame my Indonesian tongue. =p
The Famous "Char Kuey Teow"

When we were about to cross the road

Here are snap pics of us, please excuse our narcism. I can do anything though, this is my blog. =p

Take some pics first after cycle few minutes..

There she is, my housemate, Juju :)

That's me on my ride

On the way home :)

After all, I feel happy, finally I moved my lazy-ass to get some exercise.
